Polar Day has a NEW cover!

Well, you saw Polar Night, and now Polar Day has its gorgeous new cover, too! Jenny Eickbush was the artistic talent behind the Polar Magic series’ new covers. They are dark, mysterious, and just plain beautiful. We can’t wait to show off the third installment in September!

While you wait for Polar Curse, the third book in the Polar Magic series, a paranormal detective mystery, you can pre-order the new edition of Polar Day, or even snag a first edition copy for half-price (while supplies last!). We’ll be revealing Polar Curse’ cover on September 1, so make sure to follow us on Instagram, @inksmithpublishing and join our cover reveal fun. And of course, make sure you follow the author, Julie Flanders, for updates on her projects!

Polar Night & Polar Day will both be available on Kobo Unlimited starting September 1, so make sure you catch up with our lead detective Danny Fitzpatrick before Polar Curse publishes in October.

About Polar Day

The midnight sun bakes Fairbanks, Alaska as residents gather for the annual summer solstice baseball game. Amidst shouts of “Play ball!” a spark alights and a jogger bursts into flames. Detective Danny Fitzpatrick, still reeling from his near death at the hands of vampire Aleksei Nechayev, watches in horror as the man burns alive.

Someone is burning Fairbanks and its residents and leaving nothing but smoldering embers behind. As the city sweats under a record-breaking heatwave and unexplained fires claim more victims, Danny and his colleagues struggle to find an arsonist who can conjure fire out of thin air.

To Danny’s horror, the only one who may be able to help him stop the arsonist is his nemesis Nechayev. Will the vampire help in the hunt for a witch?

Stay tuned for Polar Curse cover reveal on 9.1.22!

Here are some notable Easter poems for your Easter Sunday enjoyment.

Easter Day

by Oscar Wilde

The Silver trumpets rang across the Dome:
The people knelt upon the ground with awe:
And borne upon the necks of men I saw,
Like some great God, the Holy Lord of Rome.

Priest-like, he wore a robe more white than foam,
And, king-like, swathed himself in royal red,
Three crowns of gold rose high upon his head:
In spendour and in light the Pope passed home.

My heart stole back across the wide wastes of years
To One who wandered by a lonely sea,
And sought in vain for any place of rest:
“Foxes have holes, and every bird its nest,
I, only I, my wander wearily,
And bruise my feet, and drink wine salt with tears.”

A Prayer In Spring

by Robert Frost

Oh, give us pleasure in the flowers to-day;
And give us not to think so far away
As the uncertain harvest; keep us here
All simply in the springing of the year.

Oh, give us pleasure in the orchard white,
Like nothing else by day, like ghosts by night;
And make us happy in the happy bees,
The swarm dilating round the perfect trees.

And make us happy in the darting bird
That suddenly above the bees is heard,
The meteor that thrusts in with needle bill,
And off a blossom in mid air stands still.

For this is love and nothing else is love,
The which it is reserved for God above
To sanctify to what far ends He will,
But which it only needs that we fulfil.

What Is It?

Author Unknown

Tall ears,
Twinkly noses,
Tiny tail,
And—hop, he goes!
What is he?
Can you guess?
I feed him carrots
And watercress.

His ears are long,
his tail is small,
And he doesn’t make any
Noise at all!
Tall ears,
Twinkly nose,
Tiny tail,
And—hop, he goes!
