Ink Smith Publishing Welcomes Editorial Intern, Emily!

Emily Joy Editor Intern.jpgInk Smith Publishing is ecstatic to announce another new addition to our team! Emily has her BA in English and Gender Studies and was recently admitted to the University of Maryland, College Park for an MA in English Literature! She joins the Ink Smith Publishing staff as an editorial intern at a very busy time of year!

Not only is Emily joining the Ink Smith family but, this year, she embarked on a journey to not buy any new books until she finished all of the books she already owned. And she is pleased to announce that she can finally buy new books again. She would like to thank caffeine for getting her through life and making her a more bearable person to be around.

Welcome to the family, Emily!

Meet Monica!

Ink Smith Publishing & Native Ink Press are proud to announce the addition to our editorial team, Monica! Monica will be acting as the Creative Editorial Intern for Native Ink Press!

Monica is a senior at Framingham State University in Massachusetts and will graduate in December. She wants to work in publishing after she gets her degree and is focused on doing some editorial work. She writes poetry and posts some of her work on my Instagram, but one day she’d like to publish a chapbook for her poems.
Monica’s favorite book is Leaves of Grass, and she has an excerpt from “Song of the Open Road” tattooed on her left arm — it says, “forever alive, forever forward.” Her other favorite books are Catcher in the Rye and On The Road. Monica has a rescue dog named Hazel Mae and her idea of a perfect day is going for a walk in the woods together and then stopping at a farm stand for fruits and flowers.
“I’m really looking forward to a chance to understand what publishing is all about and participate in any way I can,” Monica said. We are so excited to welcome Monica to our team here at Ink Smith Publishing & Native Ink Press.
